The Frank Lloyd Wright Tennis Club
Restoration of the 100 year old exterior light fixtures on the Frank Lloyd
Wright Tennis Club in River Forest, Illinois was a recent project. Fixtures are made of cedar and copper. Restoration consists of stripping old finishes and restoring the natural copper to its original aged look. During restoration, care is taken to prevent damage to the original patina. Patina is a green film that forms on copper and bronze from long exposure to moist air. We are then gilding the copper finish on the wood. This
restoration process will restore the original appearance of these historic fixtures.
